SCAM ALERT: Some Stowe Electric customers have received aggressive phone calls claiming that they haven't paid their electric bill and will be shut off within 45 minutes. The callers say they are from "the electric company" (sometimes GMP) and are asking for payment via wire transfer. They are specifically directing customers to the nearest Walmart to make payment.
