Stowe Electric Department rejoins VPPSA as strategic member

Stowe, Vt. – Stowe Electric Department is pleased to announce its renewed partnership with the Vermont Public Power Supply Authority (VPPSA). Stowe Electric Department rejoined the Authority as a strategic member effective May 1, 2025.
This strategic membership reflects a shared commitment to collaboration and resource sharing among Vermont’s public power utilities. The structure allows municipal utilities like Stowe Electric to work with VPPSA on a flexible, fee-for-service basis, maximizing operational efficiency and supporting system-wide benefits.

“Rejoining VPPSA in a strategic capacity is a smart move for our utility and for our customers,” said Jackie Pratt, General Manager of Stowe Electric. “This partnership strengthens our ability to meet the evolving needs of our community while continuing to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable power.”
As a strategic member, Stowe Electric will collaborate with VPPSA on various initiatives, including regulatory and legislative support, renewable energy standard compliance, and operational services. Future opportunities may include joint power supply planning and procurement efforts.
