Stowe Electric Department’s EV Charging Network Featured in Outside Magazine

Stowe Electric Department’s public electric vehicle (EV) charging network has helped put Stowe, VT on the map as an EV-friendly travel destination, according to Outside Magazine. The magazine’s recently published article “7 Stunning Road Trips for Electric Vehicles” features Stowe as a stop along “The Vermont Ski Road Trip: Burlington to Killington,” thanks in part to Stowe Electric’s extensive public EV charging network, including its DC Fast Chargers located at The Alchemist Brewery.

Stowe Electric Department owns and maintains nine Level-2 and two Level-3 DC Fast Charging stations conveniently located throughout Stowe. Each station is available to the public 24 hours a day thanks to our site hosts who partner with the utility to bring this service to customers and visitors. A list of public EV charging stations owned by Stowe Electric along with a map that includes all available public charging locations can be found at www.StoweElectric.com/public-charging.

Stowe Electric General Manager Jackie Pratt said “public EV charging is critical for a year-round tourist destination like Stowe. Stowe Electric Department’s network of Level-2 and Level-3 DC Fast Chargers helps support tourism and economic development within our community.”

“As electric vehicles become more prevalent, accessibility to public charging becomes even more important. Public EV charging is just one of the many ways Stowe Electric is supporting the clean energy transition and a sustainable future for public power,” Pratt said.

Since 1911, Stowe Electric Department has provided reliable electricity and superior service to the community of Stowe, Vermont. Serving approximately 4,500 residential and commercial customers, Stowe Electric is committed to supplying safe, reliable, affordable electric service.
