Stowe Electric Department (‘Stowe’) recently filed its 2020 Integrated Resource Plan (‘IRP’) with the Public Utility Commission (‘Commission’).  The IRP provides an assessment of resources, the utility’s financial assessment, options and plans for the transmission and distribution system including vegetation management, environmental impacts and attributes, and an integrated analysis and action plan for the next 3 years.  For more information about the IRP, how to make a public comment with the Commission you can contact our offices or visit: https://puc.vermont.gov/epuc-information/make-filing.

30 V.S.A § 218c, https://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/30/005/00218c, requires each Vermont utility to conduct least cost integrated planning at least once every three years and include an analysis of each utility’s generation needs, supply resources, planned improvements, and the costs associated with generation resources. Utilities file an IRP with the Commission and the Vermont Department of Public Service (‘DPS’) to allow for State agencies to review and determine the IRP is consistent with the Vermont Electric Plan and 2016 Comprehensive Energy Plan.

You may find our filed IRP on the Commission’s e-filing and case management system under the docket number 20-3563-PET, https://epuc.vermont.gov/?q=node/64/154096.

Customers interested in commenting on Stowe’s IRP, intervening in this proceeding, or requesting the Stowe hold a public hearing may submit their comments or requests through the Commission’s e-filing and case management system on or before March 22, 2021.  If you have any questions on how to navigate the Commission’s online portal, please contact the Commission either by email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
